Dezenas de milhares de pessoas saíram à ruas em várias cidades em toda a Birmânia no domingo em desafio ao novo governo militar.

As novas autoridades birmanesas suspenderam hoje o bloqueio à Internet, após mais de 24 horas em que as ligações estiveram indisponíveis. As manifestações mais numerosas foram registadas em Rangum, antiga capital e a cidade mais populosa do país, onde várias colunas de pessoas marcharam de várias partes da cidade para se reunir em torno do Pagode Sule, o monumento mais representativo do país
